I’d like to share my recent unpleasant carpooling experience to serve as a warning to everyone.

**Timeline Summary:**
* March 10: Contacted the other party via the platform and added them on WeChat
* March 11: Joined the “Google One” family group provided by the other party and paid 200 yuan
* During usage:
* Mainly used Antigravity and the web version of Gemini to ask simple questions
* Rarely used other features of the family group
* Primary use was for AI programming development
* April 7: Account suddenly lost Pro privileges
* Afternoon of April 10:
* I asked the other party to provide the payment record for setting up the family group or any related Google appeal emails
* The other party, however, demanded that I “prove my innocence first,” stating they would only provide the information if I could demonstrate I had not violated any rules
* Communication between us was fruitless, and we ultimately parted on bad terms
After joining the Google One family group through carpooling, I used the service for about a month. During this time, I believed my usage was entirely normal—limited to AI programming-related activities—and I did not engage in any actions I considered to be in violation of the terms.
Previously, adhering to the principle of mutual trust, I had never proactively requested payment proofs or email screenshots. However, after the issue arose and up until today, I could no longer hold back, so I asked if they could provide some screenshots for me to review.
The other party responded by telling me I had to prove my own innocence—that I hadn’t violated any rules—before they would show me anything; otherwise, they wouldn’t provide any proof…
I ask you, how am I supposed to prove my innocence?
This experience has served as a lesson for me. Transactions like carpooling or sharing accounts inherently carry certain risks; many rules and permissions are in the other party’s hands, and once a problem arises, it’s difficult to defend your rights.
Here are some recommendations for anyone engaging in similar transactions:
* Choose more reliable channels or people you know whenever possible
* Be cautious about “verbal promises”
* Confirm the rules and risks in advance
Don’t place too much trust in strangers.
